Went out into the San Juans with my dad's newly restored Thunderbird boat. It's almost exactly like the one we had when I was a kid, just sized down a bit. I missed that boat so much and am delighted he replaced it.

Another Thunderbird!

The camas and other wildflowers were in full bloom. The camas will always be my favorite brilliant blue flower, but the chocolate lilies are very pretty.

Thanks! They don't do the profusion of island flowers justice, of course. It's gorgeous out there right now.

How pretty -- thanks for sharing! I still have not made it to the San Juans, but now I want to.

You definitely should! I'll be going out frequently this summer, since dad got the boat and we can hit the non-ferry islands, which are generally small, rocky, flower-y, beautiful and non-peopled.

The flowers and the rocks make me homesick.

Our islands are unique, that's for sure.
